OEC 9800 monitor is old technology, but the OEC 9800 c-arm is popular with a majority of medical facilities. They like it’s reliability and performance. Therefore, it is probably time to upgrade.
CHOOSING YOUR UPGRADE:
There are currently several aftermarket OEC screen upgrades:
- Single screen.
- Large split screen.
- Two individual screens.
- Fixed screens.
- Rotating screens,
- Screens on an articulating arm.
- 1k, 2k, and 4k resolution.
With so many options, choosing the right monitor upgrade is a nuanced decision that depends on several factors.
The availability of the upgrade you want is something that may be a factor in your purchase. Multiple manufacturers make them, and availability can vary. It is best to allow some lead time from when you need your upgrade, as it will help prevent an unexpected long wait for new stock.
Consider also possibly upgrading from the 9800 to the 9900. The two models are very similar to one another, with one of the biggest differences being the flat monitors and articulating arm that you’re looking for in an upgrade.
While the 9800 still has years of serviceable life left in it, they are now out of production and a 9900 might make for an even longer-term solution.
Not all 9800 monitor upgrades are created equal. It’s important to do some leg work and look at brightness, contrast, and resolution for a start. The differences in quality can be vast.
The OEC 9800 c-arm flat-screen monitor upgrade feature superb contrast, higher resolution, ergonomically friendly and unlike the CRT monitors they show no burn-in. As flat-screen monitors become more mainstream the cost of upgrading from a CRT monitor to flat-screen for a c-arm is more cost effective. Flat-screen monitor upgrades will extend the life of you hardworking GE OEC 9800 c-arm.
