GE OEC 9900 Elite C-arm (4 Hour Warm-up)
The GE OEC 900 C-arm does not normally need a 4-hour warm-up to function under typical conditions. However, if you’re seeing a message for a “4-hour warm-up”, Don’t freak out!!! It’s likely due to one of the following reasons.
✅ 1. Cold Room Start-Up (crank up the heat)!
- The 9900 Elite C-arm has operational and storage temperature specifications.
- Operating temperature: 10°C to 40°C (50°F to 104°F)
- If the used c-arm was stored in a cold room or transported from a cold truck across the country into a warmer environment, condensation risk or low-temperature protection may trigger.
- In such cases, the unit may require up to 4 hours to warm up before it’s safe to power on.
👉 Quick FIx:
Let the system sit unplugged and powered off until it reaches room temperature> Let things marinate— usually 4 hours is enough time. Once back to room temp, try powering it on again.
✅ 2. Possible Internal Timer
- On rare situation, the c-arm may lock down functions due to temperature, internal clock drift, or component checks. This is very rare!!!
- Some users have reported “warm-up” messages persisting due to weak generator batteries.
👉 Quick Fix:
- Power down the OEC C-arm after a couple of hours.
- If the issue continues, call our service department, the c-arm may need to be inspected.
✅ 3. CRT Monitor Warm-Up (old school monitors)
- Only On the OEC 9800 uses CRT monitors, which can take time to reach optimal brightness and clarity. Again this is very rare.
